Victoria Week 4: My favorite restaurant
Nusr-Et combined steaks with a Turkish style of preparation. The food is served family style which makes eating there fun for social events. My favorite food there is the Lokum which is a thinly sliced steak that is so tender you can cut it with your fork. On one of our recent trips we ordered plates and plates of Lokum, and my cousin Ben ate at least eight of them. There are also great appetizers such as salmon tartare, meatballs, and salads. Some of the dishes like the steak tartare are served in a very exotic way, with dry ice smoke and the waiters making a big production of preparing the food in front of you. We asked one of the waitresses how long she had to train to prepare the Baklava dessert at the table, and she said it took over three months. For those who want to waste a month, there are some special items like the Golden Tomahawk, where the steak is wrapped in gold foil. I have never seen anyone order it.
Nusr-Et Steakhouses are located in a number of major cities around the world. We have been to the restaurants in Miami, New York and Dubai. I enjoy Miami the most as the service is great, there is an outdoor patio, and it is a fun environment. New York was also nice, but was in a business district and not as fun of a place. I would not recommend Dubai as the food and service there were not what we experienced at Nusr-Et in Miami and New York.
Nusr-Et is for special occasions and is certainly not an every weekend restaurant. I can't wait to go back.
