Aryn Week 5: Pizza - The Best Food of All
When thinking of my favorite food, undoubtedly, my mind turns to the mix of thin crunchy crust, steamy hot tomato sauce, and gooey cheese, Pizza. Those three components bind together to make the most delectable dish of all time. Pizza can come in any shape, size, or form to create the most fabulous, most flavorsome dish. Pizza comes with all the room for customization, resulting in the most desirable meal. Whether it's parents with a more sophisticated palette who prefer mushrooms and grilled peppers or kids of ‘Gen Z’ who only want to eat the pepperoni off the cheese, it's perfect for everyone of any age. You may be thinking, what about the people with a lactose intolerance or celiac? Pizza has accommodations for all. Pizza can be made with almond flour, and without a doubt, you will still get that mouth watering crunch that comes from a regular wheat-made crust.
As someone who is captivated by the art of Pizza, I have come to the conclusion that your pizza toppings describe who you are. For example, My best friend, Jolie, will never get anchovies on her Pizza. She finds them bitter, which does not blend with her naturally bubbly personality. Or my dad, who will on no account be caught with Pineapple on his Pizza. To him, there are just certain foods that are not meant to be cooked, therefore not aligning with his raw and honest personality. As well as being succulent, Pizza will always take the spot of my number one comfort item. No matter how I am feeling, a slice of Pizza, predominantly a $1 slice from New York City, will always make me the happiest girl in the world.
I agree, pizza is the one of the most versatile foods as flavors and toppings are virtually endless. The idea that pizza toppings describe who you are was very thought provoking as I considered what my friends and family choose. For example, my friend Sophie prefers just simple cheese pizza. Although cheese pizza may seem plain on the outside, there is a reason why it is the most highly liked pizza. Like cheese pizza, Sophie is well liked by all and never fails to make you smile.
