David Week 6: Buffalo Weekend

With my birthday coming up, my family wanted to do something special. My dad and I are huge Bills fans because my father was born and raised in the city of wings itself, Buffalo, New York. For my birthday trip, my dad bought him and me tickets to the Bills vs Packers game at the Buffalo stadium. I hadn't been to the Bills stadium since I was around seven years old, and so I was super pumped. I landed in Buffalo on October 28, and was scheduled to land on October 31.

After first landing in Buffalo, I went pumpkin patching with my cousin and aunt for the first time. It was so much fun and my dad and I picked out the perfect pumpkin, Patchy. The next night, my dad and I went to a Buffalo Sabres game. It was a lot of fun, but hockey isn't really my thing so I wasn't really that invested. Finally, on Sunday my dad and I went tailgating before the Bills game. It was tons of fun. I grilled lamb chops for the first time. They were TASTY! After tailgating, we watched the game and had an amazing time. That was it. The next morning we would go to the airport and fly back... or so we thought.

Monday morning, I get out of bed, pack my bags and get ready to go. Little did I know, two hours before the flight, it got cancelled. I was trapped. My dad and I were stuck in Buffalo for another day missing Halloween. Don't get me wrong, I love it there, but I was so pumped to dress up and hang with friends. Luckily, we got a flight for the next day, and arrived back in Florida today, November 1. It was a wild ride, but one of the most fun trips I've been on in a while. What is your favorite trip you've been on?

  1. I absolutely love going to football games with my family! We've made it a yearly tradition to go to Gainesville every year and watch the Gators play a football game. I honestly think sports games in general are great for family bonding, even if you have to scream at each other to hear what's being said, because everyone can enjoy them. Even my sister who claims to not like football gets so invested in what's going on when we go to Gator games.

  3. I completely understand your excitement for football games with your father. My family are huge Miami Hurricanes fans and watching their games has become a way I can bond with my dad. My favorite weekends are the ones where I get to the canes football games with my dad. Along with football being a fun activity to watch with the family, I love taking trips with my family. No matter the length of the trip, I am always so excited to spend this stress free time with my family.

  4. I love watching football games especially with my family. My dad and brother love football and its so thrilling for me to pretend that I know whats going on in the game as they get so excited over different plays. I have so many memories from special trips like that which I will never forget. Along with the football game, a good pumpkin patch is beyond fun.
